Most the Movie

THE MOST:  The Deluxe Edition DVD
33-minute short film directed by Bobby Garabedian

MOST, the Czech word for "The Bridge," is a fitting title for this 21st-century parable
about a loving father, his young son, and the fateful day when they attempt to head off
an impending rail disaster. Hundreds of passengers aboard an oncoming steam train are
completely unaware of the danger that looms as they head toward an open drawbridge.
As a desperate young woman witnesses an act of mercy beyond imagination, her life is
changed forever—as are the lives of all who see this film. Both heart wrenching and
glorious, MOST vividly portrays the greatest offering of love, sacrifice, hope, and
forgiveness known to man

The MOST is available on DVD starting March 1 at Christian stores and online.

You can visit MOST the movie on Facebook

MY REVIEW:

We watched MOST tonight as a family. The teenagers and grown-ups really liked it. The 10 and 12 year old said it was ok. I think the problem they had was the sub-titles. It's hard for kids to get the hang of reading the sub-titles while watching the movie.

MOST is based on a sermon illustration that pastors have used for years. I had never heard it, but my husband remembers hearing it.

There is one quote on the DVD case that says "John 3:16 in 33 minutes!"

Even though MOST is only 33 minutes long, this movie really captures how much the father really loves his son. And how many needy people were on the train. MOST also captures how much anguish the father felt when he had to sacrifice his son. I was heart broken for the father. The actor did an excellent job showing the anguish on his face.

The movie ends on a high note, showing how others lives were changed by this fathers sacrifice.

I also get to give a copy of MOST to one of you!

Naya Maize Wedge Sandal from the Criss Cross Collection.

I really wanted to take some great shoe pictures outside, but I didn’t think these sandals would look right with a foot of snow on the ground! I gave Sloan a pedicure and she was more than happy to wear these cute sandals for a photo shoot!

image

I just love all the colors these sandals come in, and did I tell you how comfy they are? I just love a wedge sandal, it gives you height, and they are easy to walk in.

I haven’t had a chance to read through very many magazines lately, but I did notice that the Naya Maize Wedges are featured in Woman’s Day magazine.

The Naya brand was created for women who want beautiful,
comfortable shoes that leave a softer footprint on our earth.

Tropical Traditions Virgin Palm Oil Review & Giveaway!

image

I was excited to try another product from Tropical Traditions. This month I picked the Organic Virgin Palm Oil. This is more the consistency of a shortening and it has a pretty pumpkin color.

                                                  image

Virgin Palm Oil

Virgin Palm Oil is palm oil that is traditionally made and maintains the natural nutrients of carotenes (precursors to Vitamin A) and the antioxidant tocotrienols (Vitamin E). Typical RBD (Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized) palm oil has these nutrients stripped from them resulting in a clear oil. In its natural state, palm oil is red in color due to a high concentration of carotenes and tocols. Palm oil comes from a tropical palm tree (elaeis guineensis - NOT the same as coconut palm trees), which is native to the tropical areas of Africa, where it grows wild.

I decided to try some Date Scotties with the Virgin Palm Oil. They turned out really good. The Virgin Palm Oil is kind of pumpkin colored, so that’s why these bars are kind of orange. I really didn’t notice that it has any different flavor than any other type of fat you would cook with.

Date Scotties

1 cup chopped dates

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup Virgin Palm Oil

1 cup oats

3 tablespoons milk

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium pan heat the dates, 1/3 cup sugar and the water until it starts to thicken. Add the lemon juice and set aside.

In a bowl whisk the flour and salt. Cut in the virgin palm oil until it has fine crumbs. Add the oats then mix in the milk. Pat half of the mixture into an 8x8 inch pan. Spread the date mixture over the top then sprinkle with the rest of the crumb mixture. Pat it down a little. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool, then cut into bars.

Excellent, kitchen-tested recipes can be found on the Tropical traditions blog.  Just search under~Virgin Palm Oil
