The North Carolina Barbecue Company was founded to deliver to doorsteps across the country the unique culinary culture of our great state. Their goal is to provide a true representation of the two distinct styles of North Carolina barbecue; the Piedmont (western style) and the Eastern style. There is a civil disagreement among barbecue purists in our state that has been percolating for well over a century, with no sign of resolve.

nc bbq aim is to not pick a side in this epicurean battle, but merely present the argument. Not only has north carolina bar b que produced an authentic Eastern and Piedmont BBQ, sauce, and slaw combination, bbq nc has found the best way to deliver it anywhere in the USA. Now when you need a real barbecue fix, it is only a click or a call away. No matter where you are.

Piedmont style pork shoulder is slow cooked and smoked with Hickory wood, the same way our Eastern style is cooked. The meat is delivered frozen in a boil bag.

Eastern Sauce is a true vinegar based sauce representative of one you might find on the table of an Eastern North Carolina BBQ restaurant. Because this sauce is primarily made up of vinegar it keeps for a long time (several months) and it does not need to be refrigerated. Our sauce is not sold separately.

Piedmont Style Commonly referred to as a “dip” because it is added to the meat after it has been served. Our Piedmont dip is made up of white vinegar, salt, pepper, spices and ketchup.

Eastern Style traditional sweet white cole slaw. The cole slaw is made up of chopped cabbage, vinegar, mayonnaise, sugar, salt, pepper and spices. Throughout Eastern North Carolina cole slaw ranges in color from white, yellow or light green.

Piedmont Style typically referred to as BBQ slaw, it is red, vinegary and peppery. A slaw unique to the Piedmont region of North Carolina due in part to the German influence of the settlers. Our BBQ slaw is made of cabbage, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, ketchup and spices. BBQ slaw keeps longer than cole slaw because there is no mayonnaise in it. BBQ slaw adds a cool fresh taste your barbecue. It is almost like a relish of sorts.

My family had so much fun tasting all everything. We really liked the regular coleslaw and the Eastern barbecue. I thought the BBQ slaw was good, it did remind me of a relish, it makes a nice little side dish. I liked how easy it was to heat up the BBQ, we just put the bags in boiling water and let it boil for about 10 minutes, then it was so easy to cut it open and slide it onto a serving tray. This would be a great meal for a party or get together. The BBQ would make great sandwiches too!
